Finally got my trip planned out for my husband and I for our first year anniversary. It was supposed to be a nice relaxing stay for a week in Florida... but with more research came more curiosity and now its turned into a road trip lol. Heres the rundown:
The trip will be from Feb 10th (the day we got married) to the 15.
First stop - Nashville, Tennessee. Music capital of the U.S.A. stay in a hotel and find somewhere really nice to have dinner. and get some neat pictures!
Second Stop - Pensacola, Florida. Big Lagoon State Park for 3 days camping. Theres a 20 minute walk along the boardwalk to one of Florida's nicest beaches and the entire area is nature filled. Should be a photographer's haven ^_^
Third stop - Atlanta, Georgia. On the way home we'll stop here for valentines day and stay a night at a really nice resort at Stone Mountain. Always wanted to go and see this place being a history dork! The next day we are going to check out the Terracotta Army exhibit in Atlanta [which we tried to go to when it was in London but the tickets sold out faster than anything!!] AND going to see King Tut! which we also missed when we were in London lol.
so... the trip is a perfect blend between relaxation and adventure... just what i need right now :) going to book everything today and i'm getting extremely excited for it!
p.s. getting a new haircut today and i'm enjoying my first day free from my extremely and supurbly annoying job at daycare! ^_^
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Snow Day
Winter storms hit the midwest very often in the winter time but ones like today are once a year kind of thing. 2 days ago it started by snowing slightly. Then the sun came out for a little bit, it melted, and the temperature DROPPED. It started to snow more gathering about 2 inches and then it turned to freezing rain by midday on Tuesday. My work closed down early due to the worry of having kids get stuck at the center and we were all sent home at 3pm. It took me 15 minutes just to try and get ice off my window enough to see out my windshield... GUH! On the way home I was sliding all over the place, here, there, EVERYWHERE. What is normally a 5 minute drive took me 20 minutes to get home. The freezing rain didn't stop until midnight when it then started to downpour snow again. Which then didn't stop until wednesday at noon. There was a total of 12 inches in places in my yard and when the sun finally peeped out, my camera started calling my name for an adventure :)
Don't get me wrong, I ADORE the snow :D Especially when i can get a day off work ;) what made me mad was they didn't give Paul (my hubby) the day off work since he does night shift so he had to drive the whole way there in the freezing rain, ice, and 6 inches of snow. Trying to convince him otherwise, he was dead set on going to work. *shrug* But today, we had a fun little adventure taking pictures of the winter wonderland all around.

Down the end of my street theres an old factory that we can't quite figure out if its still running or not. Train tracks pass this factory and we used these tracks to get into a hidden waterfall located in the woods behind all the houses. Its quite scenic and if you were normal, it would be the last thing you would think to find in West Chester, Ohio.

On our way home, a train ended up going by but I missed the engine of the train... but I did capture the rail cars with the old chimney stack from the factory in the background...and I have to admit the shot reminded me of one Dominik would take. Think so? ;)

Well, I better get some sleep. I have 2 days left at my job where I work as a preschool teacher for Pre-K kids. I'm leaving the place after working for a year to become a full time photographer and most of the people there aren't happy about it but oh well. You live once and I'm not about to let someone else run my life for me... Good Night! And enjoy the rest of your week.
Stay Warm! [if covered in 1948793847619876 inches of snow]

Ventage
Today my hubby and I went exploring trying to find an outdoor range to go shooting with the pistol he just bought. Considering the infinite amounts of snow that started to pour down we found ourselves stuck in the middle of a state park with a frozen marsh. and considering it was only 18 degrees outside... it turned into some fun-filled ice skating that entertained us endlessly for about an hour lol. got a few really good pictures but edits are still being made. despite everything else that seems to be going on, I got another senior protrait project planned for the spring time and looking at doing a second wedding in May. Heading to Pensacola in February to celebrate our 1st year anniversary :) and can't wait to get some pictures of the beach! Should be pretty exciting :)
Well, its off to bed. Just felt the need to make a few updates! Pictures will be posted later... Good night.

My Sister's Wedding
TWO Major Updates:
Got the camera! Ended up getting the Canon 50D rather than the 40D because of the 40D being canceled. I figure the two models are similar enough anyway so I just upgraded for a few hundred more. And I'm absolutely loving it! In just 3 days there were 900 pictures on my memory card... lol!
Second Update - my sister got married Jan. 17 to her fiance Kyle who she's been with for nearly 5 years. i'm so proud of them! me, my husband, her, and kyle have all been friends for such long time [interesting story with this, but i'll save for another day] ;) it felt that yesterday we all finally came full circle. it felt so good to be altogether after all of us being apart for so long. although they are getting ready to go to england together for 6 months, the wedding and the week kyle has been here has just been amazing. just like old times :)
their wedding was absolutely gorgeous and i'm so proud to have been a part of it. i was able to take a few pictures of their wedding reception :) but couldn't get any during the ceremony cuz I was the maid of honor. i've gotten so many good ones i must post! let me know whatcha think..
