Long Walks with Short Talks

I love these photos from this day :) These were taken yesterday evening right before the FA Cup. We walked through what Paul calls his "secret garden", across some fields in the ridge behind him there in that photo, and arrived right in front of this rape seed field (yes it's really called that?!). I feel like my middle photo would have been better with a beautiful blue sky with puffy white clouds in the background but unfortunately England doesn't quite experience weather like Ohio does.

Being back here in the U.K. is almost surreal. I've been here now for 5 full days and I'm still getting used to it. I feel as soon as I leave Friday, that's when it's really gonna hit me that I've been here. I still seem to feel completely exhausted from jet lag. But I don't think it is jet lag. I think it's work exhaustion. I realized this was the first time I haven't worked in the slightest since August of last year. Even days I've had off since then I've been working on stuff. Much needed and deserved break this has been :)

Food is amazing too. As I know already and have missed very much. I'm so very pleased to be here again.

Brooke.

PS: That brown leather jacket is new :) Paul bought it for me when we went into town and they had some super awesome prices on things. Though, the shop lady got very brisk and impatient with me as I am very picky. That is definitely something much different here than it is at home. Customer service here is really horrible! I kinda find it amusing lol. I'd be fired at my job for acting the way I've seen some of these shop keepers.

PSS: The pictures above are literally pictures of us taking pictures of each other standing right in front of each other :) amazing views all around yeah?

Fantastic! I thought you'd feel some relief from not working for the first time in such a long time. The jacket looks very vintage, classy!

I was going to say the same thing, that jacket looks very vintage indeed, something Indiana Jones would have worn :-)
And yes of course they're called rape fields... don't you have any of these in Ohio? Hope you enjoy your last few days in the old world :-)

I do like how vintagey it is :) it's a little big on me at times it seems but its nice whenever I'll need to layer underneath for extra warmth. Not to mention for future bike riding!

And no we dont actually. You get different prairies full of different wildflowers but not of rape seed that I've seen anyways. We mainly harvest corn, wheat, and sunflowers lol.
