We are all spiritual beings living the human experience.
I heard this perfectly phrased at a funeral I attended Friday for my great-grandma who passed away last week. When this entered my ears and processed through my brain, it got me thinking enormously about how spiritual many of us really are. We all choose different ways to express it through religion, art, certain relationships we create... but we really are here to make the most out of this life that we are given. I've never really been a religious person myself, but I do believe that there is more to death/life than what meets the eye. The ending of one thing can mean a completely new beginning of another. This life that we all find ourselves within isn't about meeting the expectations others set for you but the goals and desires that your heart screams to run toward, like my great-grandma did. Letting go of fear you have toward living freely, embracing who you are inside and out, and accepting everything with a smile and a spice of laughter is what makes the most out of this life. Less worry. More curiosity. Less safety. More adventure.
Anyway - I did get the chance to get some pictures yesterday after visiting the Khron Conservatory downtown for the "Butterflies of Japan" exhibit. Butterflies are the most cliche and over-photographed insect that exists BUT I did meet a cute little fellow that wouldn't seem to leave me alone.

After driving around Eden Park we came across an old water tower that used to be one of the hubs of Cincinnati... but as the city grew larger and more people flocked here obviously bigger ones were needed :) I didn't really edit this one much because the RAW file turned out pretty good.

Last Note - I still have a bulk of wedding photos to edit from last weekend and will be making a blog post featuring the best of the best here after the bride and groom get to witness first. I've been having very long, vivid moments of deja vu lately and a strangely unknown feeling of relief. And also, short rests of sleep and tired, sleepy eyes pour down on Halo 2 as I fall in love with the music of the game. Next game on my list: Dead Space.

Very sorry for your loss. I was never fortunate enough to have a conversation with my great-grandma because she passed away when I was three years old, and I never met my great-grandfather. So you're really lucky to have had her in your life until you were 20.
I also agree with everything you said in that long paragraph :-)
I like butterflies, unless I see them tatooed onto someone's body lol.
There's this place in Cornwall called Eden Project, I think you'd love it. They got all different climate zones and loads of plants and insects etc.
I still remember playing Halo on split screen with my buddy Max, sitting in this dark old room in the most comfortable chairs ever (Eames lounge chair, gotta love it!) in this fantastic Grade A listed town house... brings back memories! Cheers :-D And the chorus section of the soundtrack is epic.
I know I was very fortunate to know her... she lived a very long, good life. I'm not so sure she was the happiest but the experiences she's been through definatly made her unique and interesting.. and very well respected.
lol butterfly tatoos seem to be very popular and everyone who gets one thinks they're being completely original :/
I think you've mentioned it to me before... the Eden Project :) I like stuff like that.
Halo is definatly awesome. There is a new one coming out this fall..!
I think we're never as happy as we'd like to be...
Hahah, true. I'd like to get some maple leaves or something. Not sure were, I'm not a bodybuilder so there's not that much space to put it. lol
Me too :-) Although it's so hot and humid in there that professional cameras fog up. Don't know why it doesn't happen to those small digital cameras.
I heard about that! My CD / DVD drive hasn't been working since July or August last year though. And if I have it repaired, I won't have my laptop for three to four weeks.
The reason I got back here, was to say that I like the newest layout best :-) Definitely easier to read the text...
yeah i took your advice on being able to read text and i think it just looks nicer :) thanks! the purple ties nicely and makes it stand out against my website. i'm also in the middle of making a client based website where i can sell prints and show clients their photos. its a pretty awesome site!
with it being summer pretty soon for you... i'm sure you could survive for a few weeks :D unless you don't have a backup desktop... lol i dont know what i'd do without my computer >_<
You're welcome :-)
Looking forward to that one... maybe then I can get a large size print of the waterfall photograph :-)
Well, I don't have a backup desktop. I bought this huge laptop with two 250 GB hard drives and everything else you need, but as they say, "they don't make 'em like that anymore" - it's just not durable. Anti Virus software never worked like it should have, CD drive broke after a little more than a year.
