The picture above is the result of some tireless encounters with me and my camera. I was trying to capture the excellence of my necklace that I made (the dream catcher) but my camera did not want to focus correctly. And even though I was getting frustrated I have to say that I kind of like the out of focus look that it turned out to be...
It's sort of... symbolic.
As Qi Gon Jin wisely spoke "Your focus determines your reality." My focus has been unclear. Misguided. Left alone in the dark. I know what I want in life but it's knowing what steps to take to get there and not letting people around me bring me down. A huge fault of mine has always been living for others and not doing what my heart truly desires.
So, Heart, what path will you carry me down? Speak openly. Travel wisely. Worry less. Oh... and uhhh.... bring me a shiny plate of awesome and a full cup of happiness while you're at it :D
Turn around, look at what you see
In her face, the mirror of your dreams
Make believe I'm everywhere, living in your eyes
Written on the pages is the answer to our
neverending story
Reach the stars, fly a fantasy
Dream a dream, and what you see will be
Lives that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds
And there upon the rainbow is the answer to our
neverending story
Limalh-Never Ending Story
I think my car and I might take a nightly stroll out to a dark isolated spot tomorrow night to witness the Perseid Meteor Shower in its ultimate climax. Using the Dark Sky Finder my good friend Dominic showed me makes me want to go all the way out to West Virgina and stand on top of the Appalachian Mts. Or fly out west :) Man, I really need to work on that teleportation device....

Nice handmade necklace... use manual focus instead of the automatic one :-)
By coincidence I just watched Star Wars earlier this evening :-)
Those lyrics are from the movie of the same name, aren't they?
I saw that one when I was a kid.
Awww :-) I'm glad you like that tool... and all the other nerdy stuff I keep posting on my facebook :-) Hopefully the Dark Sky Finder is trustworthy... enjoy that little trip :-)
A teleportation device would be awesome though... beam me up, Brooky! ;-)
i get equally frustrated with manual focus when it comes to self portraits lol maybe i should just not take pictures of myself :P
which star wars did you watch? :D
the lyrics are from that movie yes. i came across it on youtube and had an instant realization as to why i fell in love with it when i was a little kid.
*beamed*
I had some trouble with it too, but then I took a closer look at the lens and noticed it had feet and metres on it. Just guess how far away you're from your camera, then set the focus to e.g. 2 or 3 metres, take a picture and you'll see if you're sharp or not.
The original one of course. I so want to visit that place in Tunisia where they filmed Luke's uncle's house. One of my friends went there, he said it still looks like back in 1977. I don't like the new trilogy too much, it doesn't come close to the old ones. It's a shame the old ones didn't have Ewan McGregor in it, but there's nothing you can do about that lol
So how was your astrophotographic trip? I didn't even make that one up, wikipedia has an article on astrophotography. The weather's been too bad to take any pictures of the stars this week; this summer isn't as hot as last summer.
Your focus does determine your reality, and you can never live for others, always live for yourself, and help others where you can. Being kind to others, being thoughtful, these are great things, but people will always be themselves, whether that is productive or not. Just do what makes you happy, and others will join in if they want.
I also know what I want in life, and finding the steps to take is tricky, like sticking your foot halfway out toward a pond or a lake and tapping it against the water, you know that if you shift your weight to that foot; that you'll fall in, but what if? truely to find out, you must make that step, you will fall in and you know it, you will get wet, but will you drown or swim? or will you simply tread water for a few seconds then get out, disapointed. Life is tricky, and many people avoid that water at all costs, and some jump in then get right back out, telling people of what a 'mistake' they made their whole life through. So really know, and to really succeed, you must access your situation, study the length of the lake, the temperature of the water, and then you must look at your abilities. Do you need to go back and learn in a smaller lake first, or are you readily equiped, with full conviction and belief in your heart that you will succeed. If you can check mark all these, then go for it. You will only live once. You must learn the ways of the force, and make the life that you dream of, you only get one chance at it.
Dom - yeah I've been looking into "astrophotography" and falling in love :) There are special telescopes that you can get that you rig your camera to and you can take pictures of the sky. Or just invest in a reeeeally fancy telescope. I need to move to the desert. Maybe I'll fortify Uncle Owen's in Tunisia! And I agree 100% the old Star Wars movies are better than the new... minus Ewan lol
Slick/Paul - I couldn't have said that better myself :) It was beautiful. Thank you <3
